Are you looking for an opportunity to work in health care? Are you a caring, motivated people person who welcomes a challenge? We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to work in a new role within our District Nursing teams.
We are looking for Band 2 Healthcare Assistants to work with us in Community District Nursing Services within each of the York and Selby localities. Our community nursing teams provide a range of care to patients in their own home environment and are committed to providing excellent patient care for the people in our community. No prior experience in health care is required just a passion for delivering exceptional and compassionate care.
A programme of education and training will be provided to the post holder prior to working independently with patients. Support will be given to complete the Care Certificate qualification. A large part of the role will be taking blood from patients in their own home; full training will be given in this skill. The post holder will work under close supervision of a registered nurse but will work independently visiting patients.
This new role will also offer the opportunity for gaining experience in health care and provide career development for those wishing to progress into a career in nursing / health care.
It is essential that the candidate has good written and verbal communication skills and can engage confidently with patients and staff.
The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this.
