We are delighted to invite applications for the post of Consultant Radiologist to join our dynamic and rapidly evolving Radiology Directorate.
We are seeking highly motivated and ambitious individuals to join our team of 26 Consultant Radiologists working across our Trust sites in York and Scarborough.
Our Consultant Radiologist team has a wide range of specialist interests as well as contributing to the general radiology activity. We are keen to encourage those who wish to join this team to contact us to discuss any specialist interests they have.
The Directorate provides radiology services across the Trust and is currently in an exciting period of dual site service development. Positions are available to be based at York Hospital or Scarborough Hospital, with a job planned cross site commitment.
At York Hospital we have two MRI scanners one of which was refitted in 2018, and three CT scanners which are all less than five years old. We offer a full range of diagnostic CT examinations and CT interventional procedures.
At Scarborough Hospital we have one MRI Scanner which was installed in November 2018 and one CT scanner, with approved funding for a second. The Trust has recently has a £40million development approved for ED/Acute admissions at Scarborough Hospital.
The Radiology department is committed to teaching. We support Radiology trainees from the Leeds rotation and play an active role in teaching Hull York Medical School students. To support your learning and development you will be entitled to a study leave budget of £3,000 across three years, along with support from our learning and development team. Scarborough is a vibrant seaside resort on the East Coast of Yorkshire, attracting more than one million visitors during the summer months. The North Yorkshire Moors National Park on Scarborough’s doorstep provides a place to get away from the crowds and discover our wonderful heritage.
Candidates must have a Medical Degree and be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within twelve months of obtaining their CCTs (or equivalent) at the time of interview. When submitting an application, please stipulate which Specialty you are interested in within the additional information section of your application form.
If you are shortlisted, you will be required to take part in an Assessment Centre.
Assessment Centre; if shortlisted, we will invite you to an Assessment Centre on 12 March 2019 where we will ask you to participate in recruitment activities. The Assessment Centre will be based at York Hospital and usually lasts no more than 3 hours. Full details will be provided to you if you are shortlisted to attend.
Interview; if you are successful at our Assessment Centre, you will be invited to an interview which will provisionally be held on 13 March 2019
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
