We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual to join the Cardio-Respiratory Department at York Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust. The Trust has cardio-respiratory departments at York, Scarborough and Bridlington Hospitals. This newly created role will provide operational leadership for all sites, supporting the senior physiologists to provide an excellent and consistent service to our patients.

The successful applicant will join a close-knit multi-professional team delivering a full range of diagnostic investigations and procedures. There are exciting plans for the future as the department seeks to expand. Integrated services and methods of working will be a primary focus and the successful applicant will be expected to lead operational change where required to ensure that the department continues to deliver an excellent service.

The post holder can be based at either York or Scarborough Hospital but would be expected to support all sites.

The Yorkshire Vale and Coast area is a welcoming and scenic place to live and work. Highlights including the North York Moors National Park, picturesque seaside towns and the historic city of York.  Transport links to London and the South East, and North East England and Scotland are good with York being on the East Cost mainline and close to major trunk roads.  There is also easy access to Leeds and West Yorkshire by road and train.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate significant knowledge in either CRM or Echocardiography and hold either BHRS or BSE accreditation.

Pre-application and pre-interview visits are encouraged.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
