Trust Grade Core Trainee Trauma & Orthopaedics
Full time with on-call
Commencement Date – As soon as possible
Applicants are now welcome to apply for this post that is designed for doctors who wish to pursue a non-consultant career progression and obtain speciality exposure and training in Orthopaedics and Trauma. We offer a Study leave budget of £300 per annum.
This post is perfect for doctors wishing to gain more Orthopaedic experience and developing there knowledge. Applicants must be competent with the management of ward patients pre and post operatively. They will need to be able to recognise and attend to the sick patient with support from the in hospital services and teams. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with all Consultants on the Trauma / On call rota. Participation in tuition of students from Hull York Medical School is expected. Applicants wishing to complete MRCS will be supported. The role will mostly be ward based and some planned elective sessions in theatre and clinic provided.
The post is primarily aimed at providing safe cover for inpatients and contribution to the on call rota. However we have an interest in maintaining our work force and options to progress with non-training grade orthopaedic education can be discussed. The job can be tailored to a doctor interested in elderly medicine for example as the post holder will also attend orthogeriatric ward rounds.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
