Our Theatres Department are holding an Open day on Saturday 2nd February 2019. This is in our Day Unit based at Junction 5, 1st Floor, York Hospital from 10am-2pm.

We welcome Registered/Student or Newly Qualified Nurse’s and ODP’s looking for a fantastic opportunity within our Theatre Team. There is also opportunity for HCA’s with Hospital experience that have completed their Care Certificate or equivalent.

A little bit about us- Our area is committed to providing a high standard of patient care from 11 specialist theatres, 6 day unit theatres as well as initiating acute and chronic pain services.

Our surgical specialties include: Maxillofacial, ENT, Gynecology, Urology, Vascular, Upper GI, Colorectal, Breast and plastics and Acutes including Trauma.

You do not need any additional qualifications to be eligible for this post, but hold passion, enthusiasm and commitment to provide patient centered care.

  • A positive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research evidence.
  • A willingness to supervise and teach junior staff and colleagues and share learning through clinical supervision.
  • The ability to work as an integral member of the team.

Career Aspirations – We have a unique induction program waiting for you from the day you start and a trust wide preceptorship program for qualified staff. We are developing rotational posts to encompass all aspects of patient care within theatre.

We also offer a number of other benefits for our Band 5 Staff Nurses and ODP's which include the following:

  • Pre-registered Nurses/ODP's who have completed their qualification and are awaiting NMC/HCPC registration will be paid at AfC Band 4 (previously Band 2)
  • £750 relocation fee where a Nurse/ODP is moving 20 miles from an address that was 50 miles from their new work base.

Car Parking for people attending the open day will be free-please see a member of the Theatres Team to get your parking ticket validated.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
