Do you share our values? We’re looking for applications from people who:

- care about what they do
- respect and value others
- listen in order to improve
- always do what they can to be helpful

…to help make us a valued and trusted partner within our care system, that delivers safe effective care to our local population.

We are delighted to invite candidates to apply to work with us in this dynamic and expanding Respiratory Medicine department in a beautiful area of Yorkshire. The advertised post is planned as contributing to and developing the lung cancer service, though we are looking to develop a number of services so applicants with other sub-specialty interests are also encouraged. There may be scope for additional appointments if there is more than one highly-qualified applicant.
Candidates will contribute to the General Medical on-call rota, though in the longer-term, a separate respiratory on-call rota and an on-ward/off-ward working pattern is envisaged, which will facilitate further development of specialist interests.
The department and Trust both offer a welcoming and dynamic working environment, with opportunities to participate in teaching medical students from the Hull York Medical School (HYMS). Research opportunities are encouraged. This post also offers the opportunity to live and work in North Yorkshire, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Trust’s location allows easy access to the outstanding countryside of the Yorkshire Dales, Moors and coast. It has excellent schools, many rated as “outstanding” by OFSTED, as well as excellent transport links, being 2 hours from London and 30 minutes from Leeds by train.
The post is based at York Hospital, though there is flexibility for applicants interested in working in Scarborough or in a cross-site post. Whole-time, part-time or job-share applications are welcomed. We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who will work well within the team to develop inpatient and outpatient services.
Pre-application and pre-interview visits are welcomed and encouraged; applicants wishing for more information may contact Dr John White (Clinical Lead) on 01904 725840

Please note the Assessment centre for this post will be on 24/04/2018 with interviews for successful candidates the following day (25/04/2018)
