Base: York Hospital

Fixed term for up to 12 months

Whole Time or Job Share – 10 Programmed Activities

York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an ambitious programme of service modernisation and a reputation for providing high quality services. In line with our outlook, we are now inviting applications for this replacement post, in the oncology team at York Hospital.

The post holder will be a central member of a multidisciplinary team providing inpatient and outpatient oncology care, with a focus on supporting the Acute Oncology team. The post holder will be supported in keeping themselves up to date with current knowledge & practice, expected to attend clinical meetings within the department & to participate in audit & “in-service” training of other healthcare professionals.

The post holder will be required to deputise for absent colleagues from time to time and to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.

The post is not a recognised training post, but would be ideal for those wishing to gain further experience in the specialty as the training, supervision and clinical experience will be similar to that of the training grade doctors and tailored to the postholder’s previous level of experience.

Candidates must have full GMC Registration, and a familiarity with issues of service organisation and development would be particularly advantageous.

The recruitment programme for this position will take place over one day.
