We are looking for a highly motivated Midwife with a passion for infant feeding and current experience working with women to establish excellent feeding patterns to cover Maternity leave. York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust currently holds BFI level 3 Accreditation. The successful applicant will advise Midwifery staff, medical staff and support workers on matters relating to Infant feeding. There are Maternity Support worker hours allocated to the team and we have Midwife champions attached as well. This post will involve delivering mandatory training to staff, undertaking audit work, taking direct referrals regarding women with feeding problems and assessing them as required. An important aspect of this role is working closely with the paediatric service.
York Teaching Hospital is a cross site Trust with main obstetric units in both York and Scarborough, we cover a wide geographic area and also have 7 teams of community Midwives delivering care from community bases.
It is an excellent opportunity for a Midwife to develop management and leadership skills. The successful applicant will have excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to work on own initiative but using a team perspective. We are ideally looking for one candidate to take on a whole-time cross site role but may consider part time site specific roles for the right candidates. The post will run for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
