Contract - Permanent

Hours - up to 30 hours per week

This vacancy is to cover maternity leave for 9 to 12 months, however at the end of this assignment we will offer you a further nursing post within the trust.  You will always be on a permanent trust contract.

Easingwold Satellite Renal Unit is a 10 Station community based haemodialysis unit caring for patients with chronic renal failure.

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the friendly nurse led team at the unit, providing maternity cover.

Easingwold renal unit is part of York Renal Services which also has a main unit at York Hospital and a satellite unit in Harrogate. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse who demonstrates excellent communication and leadership skills to join our small, friendly team.

You will be part of a dynamic forward thinking multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality individualised evidence based care. Although based at Easingwold the successful candidate needs to be flexible to cover occasional shifts at York or Harrogate if there is a clinical need.

No previous dialysis experience is required as a comprehensive training package will be provided, although you should be able to demonstrate an interest in renal nursing. Ongoing support will be provided by other members of the nursing team and the Renal Clinical Educator. You will be part of a dedicated team of nurses, and may be required to take part in the limited out of hours on-call service as required.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
