This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Biomedical Scientist to join our professional and friendly team within the Haematology Department.

Applicants will need be HCPC registered, having attained an IBMS approved Haematology MSc and /or FIBMS, in order to demonstrate the required level of knowledge and competence for the post of Senior Biomedical Scientist. You will have responsibility for the Haematology section on the York site under the direction of the Haematology Operational Manager.

The post represents an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and technical skills. The department has a strong culture of supporting professional training and CPD activities. The Haematology Laboratory has a managed service contract with Sysmex including XN-10, XN-20 and XN-550 FBC analysers, Interrliner FRL and a DI-60. The laboratory is formally accredited by UKAS to ISO 15189 and is an IBMS-approved training laboratory.

After satisfactory completion of local induction and work-based training the successful applicant may be expected to participate in some of the departmental shift system if necessary. Informal visits are welcomed and encouraged.
