30 hours per week
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join the Specialist & General Medicine Directorate, working primarily for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Specialist Nurse team.
The post holder will be working in a very busy environment and you will provide secretarial, and administrative support, to the IBD Specialist Nurses. Secretarial duties range from and include, filing, audio composition of letters and processing mail.
The post holder will also be responsible for co-ordinating arrangements for the patient pathway of care, including the IBD Advice Line and general telephone contact with patients, GP’s and external services and assisting with the Multi-disciplinary Team meeting co-ordination.
RSA II or equivalent typing/word processing or excellent demonstrable typing skills and GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent English language are essential. A minimum of 6 months secretarial/admin and customer care focused experience, is also required. Knowledge of medical terminology would be a strong advantage, but not essential as full training will be given. Experience of using a variety of IT applications is required.
You need to have a flexible approach to work, be well organised, have the ability to prioritise, be able to work effectively as a team member, or on your own and have excellent communication skills. An enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn is also important.
The working hours for this post are 30 hours spread across four days including Monday-Wednesday and Friday at 7.5 hours per day.
