…to help make us a valued and trusted partner within our care system, that delivers safe effective care to our local population.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual, preferably with a specialist interest in non-invasive imaging to work at York Hospital.

The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team of 12 cardiologists delivering services to York and Scarborough Hospitals and surrounding areas amounting to a population of approximately 800,000 and covering an area of 3,400 square miles.

York Foundation Trust has a large Cardiology Department providing acute inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic services at York and Scarborough Hospitals, and outpatient clinics at Selby, Bridlington, Malton and Whitby Hospitals.

We are entering an exciting period of change and innovation within the Trust with York Hospital delivering a new Complex Device Service and approval obtained for a second Catheterisation Lab at York.

The post is based at York Hospital, though there is flexibility for applicants interested in working in Scarborough or in a cross-site post. Whole-time, part-time or job-share applications are welcomed.  We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who will work well within the team to develop inpatient and outpatient services.

The department and Trust both offer a welcoming and dynamic working environment, with opportunities to participate in teaching medical students from the Hull York Medical School (HYMS). Research opportunities are encouraged. This post also offers the opportunity to live and work in North Yorkshire, an area of outstanding natural beauty.  The Trust’s location allows easy access to the outstanding countryside of the Yorkshire Dales, Moors and coast. It has excellent schools, many rated as “outstanding” by OFSTED, as well as excellent transport links, being 2 hours from London and 30 minutes from Leeds by train.

Interviews will be held on 23rd March, 2018.
