The Estates Department is looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to work as part of a multidisciplinary management team. The department provides management, development, maintenance and operational support for the Trust's buildings and engineering infrastructure. The role is critical to the Estates Department's maintenance support service and is demanding and varied as it covers a range of building management services (BMS). The role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning of a range of engineering services in the Trust's clinical and non-clinical facilities of a very busy directorate and to be part of a team that is constantly working to improve the quality and safety of the Trust's healthcare facilities.
The successful candidate will be based at York or Scarborough, but must be willing to work at any of the Trust's sites when required. You will be part of a team working primarily Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will have a good general knowledge of Electrical / Mechanical services and engineering maintenance backed up by degree level in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent (as covered in the person specification). The successful candidate will also need to have a detailed knowledge of BMS systems. The role requires the person to have a good knowledge of healthcare infrastructure, electrical systems and associated health and safety knowledge.
The successful candidate must be able to work co-operatively as part of a management team comprising of electrical, mechanical and building managers and have demonstrable experience of working within a maintenance environment. In addition, the successful candidate should be highly motivated, reliable, resilient, enthusiastic and be able to work under pressure with the minimum of supervision.
