We are keen to recruit Consultant Anaesthetists to join our dynamic and rapidly evolving Anaesthetic team. Special interests in Colorectal, Obstetrics and Orthopaedic Anaesthesia would be welcomed, but numerous other interests can be accommodated. Search You Tube for : "Intensive Care at Scarborough" We are seeking to recruit a Consultant Anaesthetist to be based at Scarborough Hospital, with an option of undertaking a proportion of work at York Hospital. This position is Whole Time or Job Share – 10 Programmed Activities with the option of an additional 2. York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides acute hospital services for approximately 530,000 people living in and around York, North Yorkshire, North East Yorkshire and Ryedale – an area covering 3,400 square miles. We manage ten hospital sites, 1,127 beds (including day case beds) and have a workforce of over 8,000 staff working across our hospitals and in the community.
Our main sites are in York and Scarborough Hospital both of which have an Accident and Emergency department and provide acute medical and surgical services, including trauma and intensive care services to the local population and visitors. The Trust has an ambitious programme of service modernisation and a reputation for providing high quality services.
The Trust is advancing its ambitious and exciting development of integrated services across York and Scarborough and in line with this an opportunity now exists to appoint Consultant Anaesthetists. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team of 15 Consultant Anaesthetists delivering services to Scarborough Hospital and Bridlington Hospital. We are part of a larger directorate of over 60 Consultant Anaesthetists within the York Teaching Hospital trust.

Candidates must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia, or be within six months of obtaining the CCT at the time of interview. A familiarity with issues of service organisation and development would be particularly advantageous.
If you are shortlisted, you will be required to take part in an Assessment Centre.
Assessment Centre and Interview are scheduled to take place for a full day on the 15th March 2019. The Assessment Centre will be based at York Hospital and usually lasts no more than 2 hours. Full details will be provided to you if you are shortlisted to attend.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
