So, whether you’re just beginning your nursing career - or looking to make a fresh start somewhere new - as a large acute Trust, we have a range of exciting opportunities designed to suit you.
Please note: for Midwifery positions please look out for dedicated Midwife vacancies. The vacancies we are advertising here are for staff nurses only.
Whatever your background, we promise you a warm welcome and all the help and support we can offer to help you become the very best you can be. This includes a first rate induction, access to a range of development programmes and an excellent staff benefits package. We also offer a number of other benefits for our Band 5 Staff Nurses which include the following:
- Pre-registered Nurses who have completed their qualification and are awaiting NMC registration will be paid at AfC Band 4 (previously Band 2)
- £750 relocation fee where a nurse is moving 20 miles from an address that was 50 miles from their new work base.
Graduating nurses joining our Trust receive an exceptional 12 month preceptorship programme, supported by a dedicated preceptor to help them attain the competencies in their chosen clinical area. To enable this, we offer 12 study days through the year, as well as regular access to our senior nursing team. We are fully committed to supporting your transition from a student to a registered nurse during your first 12 months of qualifying. Further information on our preceptorship is available in our “Caring with Pride” magazine that is available in the supporting application information.
For qualified nurses looking for a change, look no further. The Trust offers the prospect of being able to demonstrate experience and skills in a fast based, ever changing environment, as well as access a huge range of learning and training opportunities and support from a ward based mentor.
The Trust provides a comprehensive range of specialist acute and community healthcare services for approximately 800,000 people living in York, North and East Yorkshire and Ryedale - an area covering 3,400 square miles. We manage community-based services in Selby, York, Scarborough, and Ryedale, and deliver a wide range of acute and elective services in our hospitals in Scarborough, York and Bridlington, as well as outpatient services across all of our localities. We manage eight hospital sites and have a workforce of 8,500 staff working across our hospitals and in the community.
We operate a generic recruitment process; this means that in your application form all you need to do is specify the areas that you are interested working in. As our interviews are values-based, you may be interviewed by senior nurses from a specialty other than the one in which you want to work. Following a successful interview we will then look to place you in your chosen clinical areas. The Trust offers guaranteed interviews.
