The Safeguarding Children Team in York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust prides itself on high quality and innovative practice. We are now in a position to invite applicants for the new and exciting post of Named Midwife/Nurse. This new dual role will combine all the expertise of  specialist midwifery safeguarding knowledge, with the broader remit of strategic and operational safeguarding expertise for children of all ages. This post will be based in Scarborough Hospital but will be a cross-site position requiring travel between all of our sites

We are seeking a senior person who is enthusiastic, energetic and wishes to join us developing and delivering a vision of robust, dynamic, child focused safeguarding practice. Proven leadership and motivational skills will prove invaluable.

The successful candidate will build upon already established multi agency partnerships, implement reflective supervision with appropriate acute staff groups and share our commitment to devise and share innovative training that will both engage and inform staff.

Please note that if you are shortlisted, you will be required to take part in an Assessment Centre.

Day 1; if shortlisted, we will invite you to an Assessment Centre on 8 May 2018 where we will ask you to participate in 2 activities. The activities may consist of a hand written exercise, or a group activity / single activity where you may need to present to a board panel. All details will be provided on the day and there is no preparation required in advance. The Assessment Centre will be based in York and usually lasts no more than 3 hours. Full details will be provided to you if you are shortlisted to attend. 

Day 2; if you are successful at our Assessment Centre, you will be invited to an interview, which will be held on 10 May 2018.
