Are you looking for an interesting post that offers a change of direction in your career and the opportunity for you to develop skills in practice education? An opportunity has arisen within the Practice Education Team and we are recruiting two registered Healthcare Professionals to join us as Practice Education Facilitators. We work together as a team across all sites, (both York and Scarborough Hospitals), covering practice placements for all healthcare professional students within the organisation. You will need good communication skills, knowledge of current practice education issues and experience of working with healthcare professional students. The post will be based at Scarborough Hospital covering practice placements for all non-medical healthcare professional students and supporting Trainee Nursing Associates within a defined area. We are looking for a motivated, flexible and enthusiastic registered healthcare professional who will be able to work with non-medical healthcare professionals and students providing support and cover when required to all placement areas in the organisation. The role of the Practice Education Facilitator is to:

  • Promote, support and advise on practice education issues in practice placement areas
  • Ensure the Trust meets the National and Regional Standards for Healthcare Education
  • Support staff to engage in education and training for all non-medical healthcare professional students to meet the required standards
  • Support the provision of quality practice placements for all non-medical healthcare professional students.

This will involve liaising with University, Trust staff and Healthcare professional students (non-medical). It can involve delivery of presentations, teaching, mediation and organisational skills in order to meet the challenges of professional education. We can offer you a varied working experience, opportunities to develop your professional skills and work within a friendly supportive team.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
