An exciting opportunity has arisen to help support the development and implementation of an OPAT (Outpatient Parental Antimicrobial) Service in the Scarborough area.
This role will be key in ensuring that there is a seamless process in place for patients receiving Intravenous Antibiotics. This will include the co-ordination of ambulatory patients , those who are self-administering and patients who require home administration.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills which they will use to liaise between Medical and Nursing teams as well as internal and external providers.
The post holder will also be involved in patient counselling and education and ensuring that the patient receives the best service for them. This role will be pivotal in co-ordinating the service from the start of the patients journey until discharge and end of treatment.
The post holder will act as a link between the home team and the hospital, whilst ensuring that the appropriate follow up had taken place. Audit and data collection will be essential aspects of the role in order to determine effectiveness of this new service and to provide a basis for continued development and improvement. Therefore IT skills and report writing are desirable.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
