An exciting opportunity has arisen for a relief ward clerk to join the ward clerk team in Scarborough Hospital. You will be working 30 hours per week over 4 days Tuesday to Friday. This generally be from 08.00 to 16.00 but will occasionally need to start at 07.00 or 07.30 depending on which ward you are covering on that day.
This fast paced environment provides care for patients admitted from GP consultations, clinic appointments within the hospital and via the Emergency Department. The successful applicant will be expected to cover all wards across the hospital.
Interested applicants must have excellent communication skills, be a good team player and enjoy meeting and working with the public. Basic computer skills are also a requirement for the job. NHS experience would be an advantage but full training will be given to the successful applicant on use of the hospital computer systems.
Interested applicants must have GCSE Maths and English grade C or above (or equivalent qualification). Computer literacy skills to RSA2, NVQ2 or equivalent.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
