Here at Scarborough Hospital within York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust we are offering an exciting opportunity to Registered Nurses that are interested in working in Emergency and Acute Medicine.
There are a number of areas to choose from, each offering unique opportunities:
- Emergency Department
- Ambulatory Care Unit
- Acute Medical Unit
Our aim is to consistently deliver the highest quality nursing care in a fast paced and dynamic environment. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic nurses that are passionate about the delivery of excellent outcomes for our patients. Highly developed communication skills are essential, as you will be expected to collaborate with colleagues across all other staff groups to ensure the highest standards possible are achieved.
We offer a supportive working environment and understand the needs of the individual. You will be assigned a mentor to help you settle quickly and effectively into your chosen area. Senior support is readily available in all of our areas and help and advice is easy to access. We actively support and encourage personal development and offer a range of opportunities to grow as a professional nurse. Each area within Acute and Emergency Medicine has a Clinical Educator that focuses on developing their staff and responding to the needs of the service.
We also offer very popular rotational posts for nurses that want to broaden their understanding of Emergency and Acute Medicine. These are also popular with those that are unsure where they may best fit and want to explore the opportunities.
The Emergency Department is a Major trauma unit as well as providing a Minor injuries service. This demanding and highly rewarding environment allows individuals with an interest of emergency nursing to hone their skills, as they participate in working in different areas of the Emergency Department.
If this type of nursing role appeals to you, we look forward to receiving your application. You are also very welcome to contact us for an informal chat or to arrange a visit.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
