We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual, with good communication and team working skills, experience of working with the general public and good computing skills to join the Nutrition and Dietetic team at Scarborough Hospital.
This post will be working alongside dietitians and a dietetic assistant practitioner in areas such as general medicine, paediatrics, surgery and oncology. The post holder will provide clinical and administrative support to these teams and will be involved in liaising with dietetic, catering, and nursing staff alongside completing basic nutritional assessments of patients.
You will also be involved in assisting dietitians and the assistant practitioner with the delivery of nutrition education sessions. Although no formal nutrition qualifications are required, a keen interest in food and nutrition is essential.
You will be given direction and supervision and appropriate training will be provided. You must be prepared to undertake competencies and continuous professional development. We are a friendly department of dietitians and clerical staff working in a busy acute hospital.
We have an established student training programme for training dietitians and encourage innovation, CPD and professional development. The support worker is a key member of the department.
