Trust Grade (ST3+ Equivalent) in Cardiology
York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an ambitious programme of service modernisation and a reputation for providing high quality services. In line with our outlook, we are now inviting applications for this post, at Scarborough Hospital,
This is a service post, however, good training and teaching facilities are available within the departments and in the Postgraduate Medical Centre based at the Hospital. The need for the successful candidate to attend clinical and generic skills training will be dependent on the individuals’ needs.
This is a Trust Grade post in Cardiology, and would typically involve work on the CCU (coronary care unit), which is the core cardiology ward, attending Consultant ward rounds and CCU cover, as well as cross covering absence for colleagues within the Cardiology Department.
There will be the opportunity to attend outpatient clinics supervised by one of the Consultants.
There will be the opportunity for the post holder to undertake training in coronary angiography, pacing and various imaging modalities on the Scarborough site.
The post holder will be expected to keep up to date with current knowledge and practice, and to attend clinical meetings within the department, and to participate in audit and mandatory training.
The post holder will be required to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues, and to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
The post holder will also be required to be available exceptionally for such irregular commitments outside normal rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
