Whole Time or Job Share – 10 Programmed Activities with the option of up to 2 additional programmed activities

York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an ambitious programme of service modernisation and a reputation for providing high quality services. In line with our outlook, we are now inviting applications to join the Anaesthetic team at Scarborough Hospital.

The Trust’s Anaesthetic service is a single directorate providing services across the three main sites (York, Scarborough & Bridlington Hospitals) and applications are invited to join the Anaesthetic team at Scarborough Hospital comprising of six theatres, in addition to which, there are separate maternity theatre and a six bedded Intensive Care Unit.

A 12 PA job plan is available with the post holder participating in a full shift for out of hours work.

The post holder will be given the opportunity to develop their skills in order to provide an excellent anaesthetic service. This will involve gaining experience in areas of special interest across Scarborough, Bridlington and York sites.

Support and mentorship will be provided for doctors who wish to develop a portfolio of training and evidence in preparation for an application for GMC Specialty Registration via the non-training (CESR) route.

Teaching sessions will be arranged specifically for Specialty Doctors across Scarborough, Bridlington and York sites and will be facilitated by consultants and SPA time will be tailored to meet the individual needs of the post holder.

Candidates must have completed 3 years in an anaesthetic posts and be eligible for full GMC Registration.

Please note that candidates must be aware of the organisation's expectation for them to be prepared to work across both of its sites in Scarborough, York and Bridlington where it is a requirement of the service.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
