New Year – New Challenge – New Horizons
Would you like to start 2018 with a new role in a dynamic and forward thinking Emergency Department, which strives to place all patients with the right service, at the right time within the right environment for their clinical need. If so, this role could be for you!
Following the introduction of the Acute Medical Model (AMM) within the Emergency Department (ED) at Scarborough Hospital exciting changes in to the way we deliver Emergency Care are being implemented. In a bid to develop the AMM and build on its success to date we are looking to recruit an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our existing team.
The ED team has a wide ranging skill set, which has recently been enhanced by the introduction of the ACP role, a role that is now pivotal in the safe delivery of a quality service for every patient that comes through the department. The ACP role encompasses the assessment, management and referral / discharge of patients who present with a broad range of undifferentiated conditions, including both illness and injury.
Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate current competence in the relevant ACP domains (adult and paediatric) in line with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine ACP curriculum, and will need to have successfully completed a recognised ACP programme. A robust clinical portfolio is a key requirement, and this should demonstrate that the applicant has achieved core competencies, as well as those specifically for minors, majors and resus. There also needs to be evidence of completion, or working towards completion, of a Master’s Degree or Doctorate which includes Advanced Clinical Practice.
This role includes nights and weekends.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
