Capital Planning Department Administrative Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Capital Planning Department and we are looking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to join our Capital Planning Team at Scarborough Hospital.

Situated within the Capital Planning Department and reporting to the Strategic Capital Planning Manager, you will be providing administrative support to the Capital Team and supporting them in the daily operational running of the department and associated projects.

You will work closely with the Capital Project Managers and the Capital Team Administrator and will also link in to the day to day operational management and corporate functions of the wider administration teams of the Estates & Facilities Directorate.

You will be required to work as part of a team but also exercise initiative on your own within set parameters. You will have previous administration experience and have the enthusiasm and willingness to learn quickly. Good organisational skills and attention to detail will be important. You will have excellent written and communication skills.

The post holder will be required to attend meetings and take minutes.

The post holder must be computer literate with an interest in the creation of Excel spreadsheets, developing Powerpoint presentations, data inputting and production of graphs (or having a willingness to learn).

There will also be a requirement to gather information on our online portals and update directorate information on our internal web pages. It will be necessary to provide written and verbal communications to the wider hospital dependent upon individual projects. (Training will be provided).

From time to time there may be a need and opportunity for travel across all of our sites although the main base for this role will be Scarborough Hospital.

There will be opportunities to further develop your knowledge and skills including development through our Apprenticeship schemes.

Applicant requirements

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.
